Susan Fletcher

Ms. Susan Fletcher is the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Healthy Environments and Consumer Safety Branch (HECSB) at Health Canada. The Branch promotes healthy and safe living, working and recreational environments and works to reduce the harms caused by tobacco, alcohol, controlled substances, environmental contaminants, and unsafe consumer and industrial products. HECSB is a science branch with close to 70 percent of staff conducting research or related science activities, including performing a range of surveillance and risk assessment activities to better understand and manage the risks to human health.

Prior to joining HECSB, Susan was Associate Assistant Deputy Minister of First Nations and Inuit Health Branch. Over the course of her public service career, she has held various senior level positions at Health Canada as well as Executive Director of the Voluntary Sector Task Force with the Privy Council Office and Account Executive, Public Service Commission.
